In 2007, Ms. Cassidy moved to Colorado from her hometown of Madison, Wisconsin after earning her M.S. in Restoration Ecology and Ecosystems Conservation from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Since living in Colorado, she has worked for various county and local government agencies as a plant ecologist, restoration ecologist, natural resources project manager, and as of May 2023, as the Open Space Manager for the City of Longmont.

She is passionate about protecting open space, agricultural land, and water rights through project work, public engagement, and environmental education. With over 17 years of experience in plant and restoration ecology, natural resources, and open space property acquisition and stewardship, she brings a depth of knowledge to her role. Between 2019 and 2023, she successfully managed the Button Rock Preserve Management Plan process for Longmont and in 2022, she began serving on the Bonus Ditch Board.

Ms. Cassidy is thrilled to be serving on the Board of Directors for SVLHWCD. She lives in Longmont with her partner and two young children.
